This a simple guide on how to secure an Annihilus Charm in a Public Game. It does however take alot of time. Incase it's a very fast walk and you don't have much time I'll put a quick version beneath the long one.

The main problem with this strategy is that the characters and builds that can use it AND kill Dclone are limited.

Best Characters:
Hammerdin
CS Zon w/ Infinity Merc (Preferably Holy Freeze Aura)

Decent Characters:
Zealot
Smiter

Possible Characters (Needs to be able to kill Dclone):
Strong Barb w/ Berserk
Summon Necro

Might have missed a couple but that's about all that can do this good.

You might be saying Smiter is better then Hammerdin but this strategy requires ALOT of PvM and although Smiters kill monsters easy, they ain't as fast as Hammerdins. And in a Public Game there is a good chance you won't be able to switch characters.

Now for the main part of the guide. Monsters to Kill and Monsters to Leave Alone.

Act 4

Act 5

That's all for the long version.. as you can see it would take quite a long time with a Smiter or Zealot to kill all of those... You don't have to do them all but it is recommended..

Alternate Way

Instead of killing the ones listed walk/tele by them so Dclone won't spawn from them anymore. That way people will try to go to them instead of your targets. Very efficient for short method which is below.

Here's the Shorter Version of what to kill/find.

Short Version of Monsters to Kill/Find (Location)

Act 1

Corpsefire (Den of Evil/Cave 1 [Blood Moor])
Rakanishu (Stony Field)
Griswold (Tristram)
Treehead Woodfist (Dark Woods)
Countess (Black Marsh)
Boneash (Cathedral [Inner Cloister])
If portal is opened, Cow King (Secret Cow Level)

Act 2

Radament
Beetleburst (Far Oasis)
Dark Elder (Lost City)
Fangskin (Claw Viper Temple 2)
Fire Eye (Palace Level 3) [Reach through Arcane Portal]

Act 3

Stormtree (Optional, Flayer Jungle/Lower Kurast Gate)
Battlemaid Sarina (Ruined Temple [Kurast Bazaar])
Geleb Flamefinger (Travincal)
Ismail Vilehand (Travincal)
Toorc Icefist (Travincal)
Bremm Sparkfist (Durance of Hate Level 3)
Maffer Dragonhand (Durance of Hate Level 3)
Wyand Voidfinger (Durance of Hate Level 3)

Act 4

Izual (Plains of Despair)
Hephasto the Armorer (River of Flame)
Grand Vizier of Chaos (Chaos Sanctuary)
Lord De Seis (Chaos Sanctuary)
Infector of Souls (Chaos Sanctuary)

Act 5

Dac Farren (Optional, Bloody Foothills)
Shenk the Overseer (Bloody Foothills)
Eldritch the Rectifier (Frigid Highlands)
Sharptooth Slayer (Frigid Highlands)
Pindleskin (Nihlathak's Temple)
Ancients (Arreat Summit)
Throne of Destruction (All Of It)

Pretty simple to pick one that's leftover.

Act 1

Coldcrow (Cave 1 [Cold Plains])
Pitspawn Fouldog (Jail Level 2)
Bishibosh (Cold Plains)
Blood Raven (Burial Grounds)
Bonebreaker (Crypt [Burial Grounds])
The Smith (Barracks)

Act 2

Creeping Feature (The Stony Tomb Level 2)
Bloodwitch the Wild (Halls of the Dead 3)
Coldworm the Burrower (Maggot Lair 3)
Ancient Kaa the Souless (Optional, One of the Fake Seven Tombs)

Act 3

Sszark the Burning (Spider Cavern)
Witch Doctor Endugu (Flayer Dungeon Level 3)
Icehawk Riftwing (Sewer 1)

Act 4

None

Act 5

Eyeback the Unleashed (Frigid Highlands/Arreat Plateau)
Threash Socket (Arreat Plateau)
Frozenstein (Frozen River)
Bonesaw Breaker (Glacial Trail)
I believe there is one in Frozen Tundra.
Snapchip Shatter (Icy Cellar [Ancients Way])

Well, I have found that hunting DClone depends on where you attack it. If you are a smiter, you want to go to a monster that doesnt have as many minions to kill (i.e. Eldritch in Frigid Highlands), because if you dont get the life tap aura onto your monster fast enough, you may have trouble surviving, like if you go to one surrounded by minions (i.e. Bishibosh in Cold Plains). Hammerdins, since their shots go around and hit everything, will probably WANT to go to something like the Cold Plains, because if other monsters come in, he won't have to worry about anything-his hammers should slaughter everything. But once you have everything isolated, just you vs. DClone, i have found that it can take several minutes for a hammerdin to kill him, and there is a high chance of dying. So if you can manage to put yourself in a one on one situation, I would say smiter is your best bet. also, if its a public game, people will also probably be there, so a smiter give you the automatic advantage of a melee attack, whereas, if you were a hammerdin, dclone could move, and you would continue to cast in the same position until you move with him, so you can have a chance at the Annihilus; attacking with a smiter, you automatically chase him wherever he goes.

But my suggested top three locations are:
       Bishibosh (Cold Plains)
       Eldritch the Rectifier (Frigid Highlands)
       Rakanishu (Stony Field)

ALSO: If it should so happen that you find everyone sitting in town, because they know DClone is going to spawn, just be ready to go to a location (Cold Plains for me) and make sure you beat everyone to a location-that is, make sure you get to Cold Plains before that level 98 Hammerdin (or whatever it may be) gets to the Frigid Highlands, and he will appear in the Cold Plains. If you are going to do that, try to unparty everyone if you want it yourself, then no one will know where you are and he is until he is dead.
