1) download the file included at the end of this post [you may need winrar/winzip].
2) make sure you backup the following mpq's just to be safe...
-> d2music.mpq
-> D2xMusic.mpq
-> d2xtalk.mpq
-> D2xVideo.mpq
3) extract the contents of the zip into your Diablo II folder, be sure to replace the existing mpq's with these.
4) now your d2 is ~700mb less per install.

5) bnet+warden can see into d2's folder and it's contents... neither DCloneIRC.net NOR myself can garantee as to the safety of this mod vs bans.
this mod hasn't been out OR tested for very long, the safety of it is still **very** uncertain eg...

1) Lade die Datei am Ende des Posts herunter (du benötigst Winrar/Winzip)
2) Mache Sicherungskopien von folgenden mpq's
-> d2music.mpq
-> D2xMusic.mpq
-> d2xtalk.mpq
-> D2xVideo.mpq
3) Entpacke die heruntergeladene Datei und ersetze die entsprechenden Dateien im Diablo-Verzeichnis
4) Die Diablo-Dateien haben nun eine Größe von ~700 mb (statt 1500)
5) hf
6) bnet+warden können in dein Diablo-Verzeichnis und die Inhalte schauen, deshalb kann DCloneIRC.net nicht für die Sicheheit garantieren
Diesen Mod gibt es erst seit kurzem und wurde noch nicht lange getestet, deshalb gibt es noch keine ausreichende Sicherheit das man nicht gebannt wird dafür --> Benutzung auf eigene Gefahr.

There is a way without any hacks and tricks in order to save space.
Only the first copy of the Diablo II required to keep all files.
All other copies need only 2 of the mpq which hold cdkeys, and the exe and dlls.
Use a shortcut to run the diablo, change the "start from" location to the first copy of diablo II.
and then, use spybot search and destory to freeze the value of Installpath in the registery.
you may use other software like sand box / multiple user logon / anything to keep all copy of diablo independent to each other.
have funs to the world of multiple copy of diablos.
