please help with basics

hi i just joined and i logged out of irc (had restart comp)

now when i try to go into the channel it would let me says im not there even though my nick is right

can some 1 send me the commands to login, or a link to where all the commands are so i can join the channel it would n super.

any help is greatly appreciated.
